Middle and High School students from Bethesda Christian Mission School (BCMS) have partnered and are hosting students from Muslim Congress High School (MCHS) to lead the 10 school pilot OPEN Sustainable Agriculture Initiative in Liberia with the support of the Liberian Ministry of Education.

We are soon inviting the Ministry of Agriculture to join as advisors to OPEN, and to work with the Ministry of Education on localizing our agriculture citizen science research and testing.

Recently BCMS and MCHS students in Liberia engaged in a lively and thought-provoking exchange via video call with 5th graders from Brooklyn, NY at Elijah Stroud Elementary (PS 316) to discuss and begin comparing and contrasting the indoor simulations to take place in Brooklyn and the Bronx (Timothy Dwight Elementary – PS 33X) Public schools vs. outdoor research test plots ½ hour from the capital of Liberia - Monrovia.
