OPEN - Liberia on February 17 and 19, 2021 made delivery of Agriculture Tools and Seeds to 7 Schools

Schools that benefitted include:

The Buchanan SDA High School in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, the Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, the John P. Mitchell School in Margibi County, the Bethesda Christian Mission School in Paynesville, Montserrado County, the Christian A. Richards Elementary School in Clay Ashland, Montserrado County, the John Christian International School in Brewerville, Montserrado County and the Royesville Central School in Bomi County.


Making the delivery for OPEN - Liberia was its Country Director, Mr. Goanbei Emmanuel Zeyoe and he was accompanied by the Ministry of Education Director of School Garden Program, Mr. Adolphus Collins as well as two representatives from Agro-Tech Liberia, OPEN partner company, Mr. Ambo Ford and Miss. Josephine Paye.


Covering the program for the Liberia National Television (LNTV) was veteran Journalist Dorbor Harris. With the exception of Royesville Central that got 4 Large Hoes, 5 Small Hoes, 4 Cutlasses, 4 Shovels, 4 Rakes, 4 Watering Cans, 1 Decameter, 1 Spraying Can and Christian A. Richards Elementary School that got 1 Large Hoe, 5 small Hoes, 1 Cutlass, 1 Shovel, 1 Rake, 1 Watering Can, 1 Decameter and sharing a Spraying can with John Christian International, the rest of the 5 schools got 3 Large Hoes, 5 small Hoes, 3 Cutlasses, 3 Shovels, 3 Rakes, 3 Watering Cans, 1 Decameter and shared the Spraying Cans.


Bethesda Christian Mission School and John P. Mitchell School are sharing a Spraying Can, and Buchanan SDA High School and Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy are also sharing a Spraying Can, whilst John Christian International School and Christian A. Richards Elementary School are sharing a Spraying Can. Only Royesville Central School has a Spraying Can to itself.


Receiving the items on behalf of schools was, the Principal, Rev. David Jallah for Bethesda Christian Mission School, the Principal Mrs. Elfreda Norbia Tyee for John P. Mitchell School, the Principal, Mr. Levi Flahnma for Buchanan SDA High School, the Principal Mr. Adams Chapman for Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy, the Principal Mrs. Arda Collins for Christian A. Richards Elementary School, the Dean and Agriculture Teacher Pastor Merdarin Vaye for John Christian International and the Principal, Rev. Urias Williams for Royesville Central School.


The tools and Seeds are on a loan basis from OPEN to the schools and each school has a Usage Policy Agreement from OPEN that should be signed and returned for filing. The receiving schools are also to make a comprehensive report at the end of the semester on both the Seeds and Tools.
